Dalai Lama will give 3 days’ teaching session in Dharamshala –Tibetan Buddhist Monastery & Seat of Dalai Lama. This teaching would be on the “Furthest Everlasting Continuum” which is being organized on the special request from Russians.

(June 3 – June 4, 2019) -Teaching in Dharamshala , HP, India

Dharamshala is the official seat of Dalai Lama. Dalai Lama would be giving 2 days teaching session on Gyalsey Thokme Sangpos’s Thirty-Seven Practices of a Bodhisattva (laklen sodunma). This would be an address to Tibetan youth in the main Tibetan Monastery in the morning.

(June 5, 2019) - Avalokiteshvara Initiation in Dharamshala , H.P, India

Dalai Lama will confer the Avalokiteshvara Initiation (chenresig jigten wangchuk wang). This initiation will be in Tibetan Monastery on the request of Dzonga Choede Monastery.

(June 19, 2019) -Long Life Offering Ceremony in Dharamshala , HP, India

A long life prayer is given to Dalai Lama. On 19th June 2019, His Holiness Dalai Lama will attend a Long Life offering prayer by two groups in the morning. The venue for the prayer would be the Tibetan Monastery.

(July 5, 2019) -Long Life Offering Ceremony in Dharamshala , HP, India

Dalai Lama will be attending a Long Life offering prayer given by the former staff of Central Tibetan Administration in the morning. The venue will be Tibetan Monastery in Dharamshala.

(September 3 – September 6, 2019) - drel-pa Buddhapalita in Dharamsala, HP, India

His Holiness the Dalai Lama will be giving a sermon on a topic in continuation of last year. Four days of his teaching session will be on the “Fundamental Wisdom of the Middle Way”- (Buddhist Principle) at the request of a group from Asia in the mornings.

(October 2 – October 5, 2019) -Teaching in Dharamshala , HP, India

This teaching session of Dalai Lama will be on request of Taiwanese Buddhist.

(November 4 – November 6, 2019) -Teaching in Dharamshala , HP, India

Since Dalai Lama is the spiritual head of all Buddhist of the world, this teaching session will be on request of Koreans. It will last for 3 days.

(December 28 – December 31, 2019) -Teaching in Bodhgaya, Bihar, India

Bodhgaya was the “Place of Enlightenment of Lord Buddha”. So, it holds immense importance in all Buddhist Sects. On the mornings of December 28 and 29, His Holiness the Dalai Lama will be giving teachings on “Bodhisattva’s Way of Life” -(chodjug) by Shantideva’s . This is a guide for all Buddhist Followers who want to attain enlightenment. On December 30, His Holiness Dalai Lama will be conferring an Avalokiteshvera Initiation (chenresig wang) for the new entrants in Buddhism. Next morning (31 December 2019) he will attend his Long Life Prayer in Bodhgaya.

(January 2 – January 3, 2020) -Teaching in Bodhgaya, Bihar, India

Dalai Lama will be concluding the empowerments that he couldn’t conclude last year. This will be on The Wheel of Teachings on Manjushri Empowerments (jamyang choekhor) in the mornings.

How to Attend His Holiness Dalai Lama’s Teachings in India?

The Teaching Sessions of Dalai Lama in 2019-20 will be a spiritual journey for Buddhist followers. To attend the teaching sessions of Dalai Lama you need to register as the attendees are in huge number. The registration process for His Holiness Dalai Lama Teachings 2019-20 in India will begin a few days prior to events. You can register for Dalai Lama Teaching 2019-20 in Dharamshala where the majority of sessions will be held. However, you can attend Teachings of Dalai Lama in Bodhgaya as well where initiation ceremony for new Buddhist Monks will be done. The registration portal closes a day before the start of his teachings.

Note -The registration hours are between 9:00 am – 1:00 pm and between 2:00 pm -5:00 pm at the Branch Security Office in McLeod Ganj, Bhagsunath Road, Himachal Pradesh, India.

You can present the following list of documents to confirm your identity and go through the security check. The registration process is quite simple and it can only be done in person at Branch Security Office in McLeod Ganj.

  • Identity Proof
  • Registration Fee for Dalai Lama Teachings 2019-20 in India
  • The registration fee for Dalai Lama Teachings 2019-20 will be a nominal fee of ten rupees (INR 10).

Note – His Holiness Dalai Lama doesn’t charge any fee for his teaching sessions and the registration fee is by the GOI administration.
