Buddhist Circuit Tour From Kolkata India

Destination :Kolkata - Bodhgaya - Rajgir - Nalanda - Vaishali - Kushinagar - Lumbini - Sravasti - Varanasi


Day 01 :- Kolkata – Arrival – Local Tour -Victoria Memorial - Indian Museum -Tagore House

Pick up from railway station/Airport and check-in to hotel. Later, you will have local sightseeing of Kolkata. Then you will cover Victoria Memorial / Indian Museum /Tagore House. Have dinner and over night in Kolkota.

Day 02 :-Kolkata – Local Visit - Fo Kuang Shan Calcutta Buddhist Centre, Mother Teresa Home, Mullik Ghat Flower Market - Howrah Bridge

After breakfast, you will cover Fo Kuang Shan Calcutta Buddhist Centre, Mother Teresa Home , Mullik Ghat Flower Market and Howrah Bridge . Return back to hotel. Have dinner and overnight stay in Kolkota.

Day 03 :-Kolkata - Bodhgaya Transfer-(400 KM /8 Hrs)

After breakfast drive for Bodhgaya. Check-in to the hotel.

Later visit Lord Buddha Temple , Mahabodhi Tree and Buddhist Monasteries in Bodhgaya. Night Stay at hotel in Bodhgaya.

Day 04 :-Bodhgaya- Local- Dungeshwari Caves-(12 KM) - Bodhgaya

After breakfast, visit Sujata Village and Dungeshwari Cave Temples also known as the Mahakala Caves located 12 KM northeast of Bodhgaya. Lord Buddha underwent years of penance here before he descended to Bodhgaya. There are three main caves containing Buddhist shrines. Return back to Bodhgaya. Have dinner and overnight stay at hotel in Bodhgaya.

Day 05 :-Bodhgaya- Rajgir - Local Sightseeing -(65 KM , 1.5 Hr) – Nalanda- Nalanda University-(12 KM, 30 min) – Patna (90 KM 1.5 Hr)

After breakfast, we will drive to Rajgir (65 KMs). Explore Griddhakuta (Vulture's Peak) , Vishwa Shanti Stupa, Venuvaranam and Bimbisar Prison. Have lunch at hotel in Rajgir.

Drive continues to Nalanda (12 KM) to visit the ruins of world ancient Nalanda University . It was one of the oldest Universities of the World & International Centre for Buddhist Studies. Drive to Patna. Stay at night at hotel in Patna.

Day 06 :- Patna – Vaishali – Ashokan Pillar -(50 KM, 1 Hr) - Kesaria- Kushinagar (250 KM, 6 Hrs)

After breakfast drive to Vaishali . Visit Ashokan Pillar - Emperor Ashoka built The Lion Pillar at Kolhua. It is made of a highly polished single piece of red sandstone, surmounted by a bell shaped capital. Then visit Lord Buddha Stupa-I: Abhiskek Pushkarn (Coronation Tank).

Later, drive Kesaria to visit Highest Buddha Stupa of the World and then to Kushinagar . Stay at night at hotel in Kushinagar.

Day 07 :- Kushinagar - Mahprinirvana Temple - Kapilvastu - Lumbini (180 KM, 4 Hrs)

After Breakfast, proceed to visit Mahaparinirvana Temple (where Buddha took his last breathe) and Rambhar Stupa (cremation site of Lord Buddha) and Japan Temple.

Later, drive to Lumbini. Kindly obtain double entry visa for India & single entry visa for Nepal. En-route visit Kapilvastu to explore Ancient Kapilvastu kingdom Complex , Childhood Home of Buddha, Monasteries and Tilaurakot Museum Complex.

On arrival in Lumbini, check in at hotel. Have dinner and night stay at hotel.

Day 08 :- Lumbini Local Sightseeing -Birthplace of Buddha-Sravasti (225 KM, 5Hrs)

After breakfast, proceed to visit holy Birth place of Lord Buddha. Later, drive to Sravasti. Stay at night at Sravasti.

Day 09 :- Shravasti – Local Tour- Saheth & Maheth - Varanasi (300 KM 6 Hrs) - Ganga Arti

After breakfast, proceed to visit Saheth (Jetvanaram) & Maheth (Angulimal Caves).

Day 10 :- Varanasi Morning Boat RideSarnath (11 KM, 0.5 Hr) – Local Tour – Dhamekh Stupa –Deer Park (Rishipattana)

Early morning feel spirituality of Subah-e-Banaras in Varanasi in which you will enjoy Boat Ride in the Ganges while Sunrise. Experience the different Ghats of Varanasi. Each Ghat has its own history and value. Come back to hotel for breakfast.

After breakfast, we will be taken for an excursion to Sarnath. Sarnath is the place where Lord Buddha delivered his first sermon to his disciples at deer park. The attractions at Sarnath are the Buddha Temples, Dhamekh Stupa , Chaukhandi Stupa , Ashokan 4 Lion Capitol , Deer Park (Rishipattana) , Mulagandh Kuti Vihar

In evening, get ready to experience one of the most memorable moments of your life, as you will be taken for world famous Ganga Aarti at Dashaswamedh Ghat. Get a glimpse of the cultural diversity and social and religious activities being carried out at the Ganga Ghats . Night Stay at hotel in Varanasi.

Day 11 :-Varanasi – Drop to - Railway station/Airport.

After breakfast, drop to Varanasi Railway station/Airport.
