8 Days Buddhist Pilgrimage Tour in India without Lumbini

Day 01 :- Arrival in Bodhgaya - Local Bodhgaya sightseeing -Lord Buddha Temple

Pick up from Bodhgaya Railway Station/Airport and check-in to hotel. After Lunch, we will drive to visit Bodhgaya Local Sightseeing like Lord Buddha Temple and Bodhi Tree under which Lord Buddha Got Enlightenment .

Have dinner and night stay in Bodhgaya.

Day 02 :- Bodhgaya – Gaya (12 KM, 30 Min) Local Tour to Dungeshwari Caves -Bodhgaya

After breakfast, drive to Gaya. En-route visit Dungeshwari Cave Temples also known as the Mahakala Caves. Lord Buddha underwent years of penance here before he descended to Bodhgaya. . Later visit Sujata Village Temple where lady Sujata Kheer (milk with rice) to Lord Buddha.

Return back to Bodhgaya. Have dinner and stay overnight at hotel in Bodhgaya.

Day 03 :-Bodhgaya –Rajgir (65 KM, 1.5 Hr) –Nalanda (12 Km, 30 min) –Patna (90 KM 2 Hrs)

After breakfast, we will drive to Rajgir. Explore Griddhakuta (Vulture's Peak) , World Peace Stupa , Venuvanaram & Bimbisar Prison .

Drive continues to Nalanda to visit the ruins of world’s most ancient university -Nalanda University. It was one of the oldest Universities of the World & International Centre for Buddhist Studies. Also visit Xuan Zang Memorial

Drive to Patna . Stay at night at hotel in Patna.

Day 04 :-Patna –Vaishali (50 KM, 1 Hr) –Kesaria -Kesariya Stupa -Kushinagar (250 KM, 6 Hrs)

After breakfast, drive to Vaishali Last Sermon Place of Lord Buddha . Visit Ashokan Pillar - Emperor Ashoka built The Lion Pillar at Kolhua . Also visit famous Tourist Attractions of Vaishali like Abhiskek Pushkaran ( Coronation tank).

Later, drive to Kesaria to visit Kesariya Buddha Stupa. Thereby visit Kushinagar. Have dinner and overnight stay at hotel in Kushinagar.

Day 05 :-Kushinagar - Local Tour to Mahaparinirvana Temple – Shravasti (300 KM, 6 Hrs)

After Breakfast, proceed to visit Mahaparinirvana Temple ( where Buddha took his last breathe ) and Rambhar Stupa also called Mukutbandhan Chaitya (cremation site of Lord Buddha) and Japan Temple.

After lunch, drive to Shravasti . Have dinner and stay overnight in Shravasti.

Day 06 :- Shravasti- Local Sightseeing –Varanasi (300 KM -06 Hrs) -Evening Ganga Arti Ceremony

After breakfast, visit Local sightseeing of Shravasti like Saheth & Maheth . Later cover, Anand Bodhi Tree , Anathpindika Stupa and Jetvana Vihara .

After lunch, drive to Varanasi , check-in at hotel. Night Stay at hotel in Varanasi.

Day 07 :-Varanasi –Morning Boat Ride –Sarnath (15 KM, 30 Min) -First Sermon Place of Buddha at Deer Park

Early morning feel spirituality of Subah-e-Banaras in Varanasi in which you will enjoy Boat Ride in the Ganges while Sunrise . Experience the different Ghats of Varanasi . Each Ghat has its own history and value. Come back to hotel for breakfast.

After breakfast, we will be taken for an excursion to Sarnath . Sarnath is the place where Lord Buddha delivered his first sermon to his disciples at deer park(Rishipattana)

The attractions at Sarnath are the Buddha Temples , Dhamekha Stupa , Chaukhandi Stupa , Mulagandh Kuti Vihara and the Archaeological Museum.

OR, Get ready to experience one of the most memorable moments of your life as you will be taken for World Famous Ganga Aarti at Dashashwamedh Ghat. Get a glimpse of the cultural diversity and social and religious activities being carried out at the Ganga Ghats .

Return to hotel for dinner and night stay at hotel in Varanasi.

Day 08 :-Varanasi –Drop to LBS Airport/Varanasi Railway Station

After breakfast, drop to Lal Bahadur Shastri Airport in Varanasi or Varanasi Railway station. Return with pleasant memories of holy trip in India.
